L’8 giugno 2020 la “Borlotti Virginio Frutta e verdura” di Borgo Santa Caterina in Bergamo cede l’attività dopo trentasette anni di servizio. È di oggi invece la pubblicazione di trentasetteanni, un reportage fotografico su pellicola che mostra frammenti della giornata lavorativa dei due titolari; trentasetteanni è un’unica parola scelta per raccontare una storia di anni vissuti tutto d’un fiato. Mentre il Borgo d’Oro si sta svegliando, il negozio vive il suo momento più importante: l’allestimento. “L’utilizzo di una pellicola dai toni rétro ma dai rossi accesi, se da un lato ricorda gli anni ’80, il periodo in cui i miei genitori hanno iniziato” precisa il figlio Andrea “dall’altro celebra la passione espressa nel loro lavoro: un servizio a regola d’arte, prodotti di qualità scelti con estrema cura ma soprattutto l’attenzione per la clientela’”. Virginio e Maria Grazia, marito e moglie e titolari del negozio al civico 72, conosciuti in Borgo come “il Virgi” e “la Grazia”, giunti gli anni della pensione, hanno deciso di smettere. Molti sono gli attestati di stima espressi da clienti e da altri negozianti della via nei giorni precedenti il termine dell’attività. “Trentasette anni sono tanti, terminiamo ora perché il tempo è quello giusto e prendiamo questa decisione con serenità, con la consapevolezza che il negozio non chiude ma che qualcuno continua sui nostri passi”, dichiarano i titolari. Il testimone passa alla giovane Isabel Spagnoli ed il negozio ora si chiama “La frutta del Borgo”. Virginio la affianca in questi giorni per il giusto passaggio di consegne.
“Siamo felici per questi lunghi anni di attività e siamo grati alla nostra clientela per averci scelto ed essersi fidata di noi” concludono i coniugi Borlotti.

On June the 8th 2020 “Borlotti Virginio fruit and vegetables” from Borgo Santa Caterina in Bergamo (Italy) sold its business after thirty-seven years. Today trentasetteanni, a film photography reportage, has been published. It shows fragments of the two owners’ working day; trentasetteanni (“trentasette anni” means thirty-seven years but it’s written as a single word) has been chosen to tell the story the couple lived without a break. While the Borgo d’Oro (this is how the quartier has been called over the years) is waking up, the shop is experiencing its most important moment: the setting up. “The use of rollfilms with retro tones but bright reds, on one side remembers the 80s, when my parents started" specifies the son and photographer Andrea "on the other side it celebrates the passion they expressed in their job: a workmanlike service, quality products chosen with extreme care but above all the attention for their customers". Virginio and Maria Grazia, husband and wife and owners of the shop at number 72, better known in the Borgo as "il Virgi" and "la Grazia", decided to quit after reached the retirement age. They received many flattering expressions of esteem by customers and other shop-owners of the neighborhood during the days before the quitting. "Thirty-seven years is a long time, we end now because it’s the right time and we make this decision with serenity, with the awareness that the shop does not close but someone carry on our mantle” say the owners. The baton passes to the young Isabel Spagnoli and the shop new name is “La Frutta del Borgo”. Virginio will assist her during these days for the right handover.
"We are happy for these long and successful years of business and we are grateful to our customers for choosing and trusting us" conclude the couple.
